As people pass their plate from person to person,
they visit our website to read messages left for them by their friends, read about where the plate has been and what it has carried, and they can leave messages to their friends before they pass it on again.
Hi Ginny - Thanks for letting me borrow my nieces for the day! I hope you enjoyed the peace and quiet for the day. We made cookies. (Sorry they're a little burnt. We were outside blowing bubbles and didn't hear the oven dinger go off.) Enjoy!
ReplyDelete-Your very tired and worn out sister
Hi Marianne, I brought some cheese dip and a bag of pita chips with me to movie night. Here's the recipe for the cheese dip:
ReplyDelete1 block of cream cheese, softened
3 cloves of garlic, pressed
1 shallot, minced
3 white truffles, finely minced
salt, pepper, and rice vinegar to taste
Mix everything together, adjust seasoning (I like my dip heavy on the black pepper, garlic, and truffle) and let it sit for a couple hours in the fridge. I put it in a dish lined with plastic wrap and unmolded it on the plate. It's really good with Stacy's pita chips. (Hopefully the movie will be just as good!)
You can get the white truffles at www.trufflezone.com They're not that outrageously expensive and soooo worth it.
Oh - I forgot to tell you one more thing about the truffles. They're mushrooms, not chocolates. Like the kind you read about coming from Italy and France. These are from Oregon and compared to the European version, I think they're just as fabulous. (And more affordable.) I try to get mine fresh when they're in season. The TruffleZone people have been at the Beaverton farmers market in the past, and I'm hoping they'll be there again this year.
ReplyDeleteTaco Dip for Bunco Night!!
ReplyDeleteI brought beer, too.
Gotta have beer with taco dip.
So who's taking this plate home after the party?
